Returns & Refunds policy

At The Origami Bakery, a cottage food operation based in Austin, Texas, we strive to provide high-quality, non-time/temperature control for safety (non-TCS) foods, such as baked goods and seasonings, in compliance with Texas cottage food laws (Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 437). To ensure clarity and transparency, please review our Refund Policy below.

No Returns or Refunds

• General Policy: All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for products purchased, including custom orders, pre-orders, or items sold at farmers’ markets, in-person pickups, or local deliveries within Austin.

• Reason: Due to the perishable nature of our home-baked goods and the small-scale, made-to-order nature of our cottage food business, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds once products are delivered or picked up.

• Quality Assurance: We take pride in ensuring all products meet our high standards and comply with Texas labeling requirements. Customers are encouraged to inspect orders upon receipt and notify us immediately of any issues (e.g., incorrect items).

Exceptions

• Non-Delivery or Order Errors: If we fail to deliver your order or provide incorrect items (e.g., wrong product or quantity), we will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement at no additional cost, subject to availability. Contact us within 24 hours of the scheduled pickup/delivery.

• Cancellations: Orders may be canceled with 24 hours notice before the scheduled pickup or delivery for a full refund. Late cancellations are not eligible for refunds due to preparation costs. Custom order deposits are non-refunded unless we cancel the order.

Customer Responsibilities

• Verification: Customers must verify order accuracy upon pickup or delivery. We are not responsible for products after they leave our possession.

• Allergens and Storage: Customers are responsible for disclosing allergies when ordering and properly storing products after receipt. No refunds will be provided for issues related to allergies, improper storage, or dissatisfaction with taste or texture.

• Labeling: All products are labeled with ingredients and the statement “Made in a home kitchen” per Texas law. Please review labels before consumption.
